We are commanded to go and preach the gospel to every creatures, and baptize them. “Is the gospel message important?” If so, “how important is it?” were the questions I asked the congregation in a meeting. Everyone replied saying, “Its very important.” And some emphasizing said, “It’s very, very, very, very important.”
I asked all of them who believed it to be very, very important to stand up, almost all stood up. Thereafter, I asked only those who are involved in some kind of ministry where the preaching of the gospel is done to stand up, to my astonishment 98% of all those who believed the preaching of the gospel to be very important were not at all involved in the work of the gospel even though they knew it to be important. Now, how about you? Are you just a believer or a believer and doer?
Preaching the gospel is the duty of every born-again child of God and there is no excuse whatsoever for that.
Many make excuse saying, “I have no time”
Do you have enough time to go on a shopping spree?
Do you have enough time to go on a outing with friends?
Do you have enough time to watch your TV soaps?
Do you have enough time to eat, work and sleep?
We all have enough time for everything; there is time for birthday parties, tea-parties, kitty-parties and everything else but for the gospel. Is it wrong/sin/unspiritual to do these things? It is not sin, but it is sin when all other things are of great importance and of high priority than God’s work. You have time to chat, gossip and talk about many things but can’t speak about the good news of salvation to your friends, colleagues and neighbors. “Necessity is laid on you to preach the gospel.”
How can I be involved in the work of the Lord?
Prayerfully decide and put into action every decision that you make for the glory of the Lord.
